Frequently Asked Questions

Where are you located? My studio is based at my home in Stamford, Lincolnshire & I serve wedding venues all over the East Midlands & East of England including, Peterborough, Rutland, Cambridgeshire, Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire & Northamptonshire.

Do you have insurance & PAT testing? Yes, I have full Public Liability Insurance cover and all of my equipment is PAT tested. Copies of documents are available upon request.

Do I need to have a trial run? Bridal Packages  include a trial as well as on the day styling to provide you with the opportunity to have a face-to-face consultation on the styles you like, discuss any allergies you may have and make any adjustments before your wedding day. You can envision and fine tune your chosen look to make sure it works for you before the wedding day, and it also means you can relax on the morning knowing your hair is one less thing to worry about!

What happens during the trial? After a consultation to discuss your wedding themes, the hair styles you are drawn to & what will work for your hair, I will then create a look tailored to you. If we have time, I may be able to change this into a second look. If you would like to try any further styles, then a second trial can be booked.

Do my Bridal Party need to have trials? It is usually just the Bride who will have a trial, but I am happy to do trials for other members of your Bridal Party too, however, they may need a separate appointment. I can accommodate for a maximum of two guests at any one time.

When will I have my trial? Once your booking is secured with me, I will reach out to you between 3 and 6 months before your wedding to arrange a trial date with you. I offer daytime appointments on Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday's and also a limited number of later appointments at 4:45pm.  I do also have some availability for weekend dates, but these are limited and availability is not guaranteed.

Do I need to provide images of styles I like? Having a few images of styles which you are drawn to will really help me to bring your vision to life. Even if you're not 100% sure, it will give me a good idea of your likes and dislikes as well as the overall vibe of your style. I will normally ask for a few images when we are arranging your trial date.

What happens if I change my mind on the style after my Trial? It's completely okay if you change your mind after your trial and I will not be offended! If you would like to make some minor adjustments to your look, such as, extra face framing pieces or some more volume, then these are easy fixes and I am happy to make these adjustments on the day for you. If you would like a complete change of style then you might like to opt for another trial to make sure that your new style feels right for you. Or, if you are happy to place your trust in me on the day then that is ok with me too :)

How do I prepare my hair for the trial and wedding morning? Arrive with clean, blow-dried hair which has been washed with your usual shampoo & a touch of conditioner. Hair can be washed either the evening before or on the morning if you would usually wash your hair daily, or if you are prone to oily hair. Ensure your hair is free from any products and hair straighteners as these can make the hair particularly soft and difficult to work with. Before your trial I will send across full preparation instructions along with some additional advice and tips on how to prepare your hair during the lead up to your wedding day.

Do you offer trials without a wedding booking? Unfortunately, I only have the resources and availability to offer trials for Brides with an existing wedding booking that has been secured with a booking fee deposit.

Which hair accessories should I buy? Unless you have your heart set on a particular piece, it's a good idea to wait until after your trial to purchase anything. I have some accessories and a veil which you are more than welcome to try out at you trial and this should give you a good indication of which accessories will complete your dream look.

Should I buy hair extensions? Clip in hair extensions are a great addition to any hair style as they add lots of volume as well as length which can really amplify your bridal hairstyle without looking super obvious. Extensions are needed 99% of the time for certain styles such as, Hollywood waves & mermaid braids. I have a some sets of extensions which you are welcome to try at your trial, and I can also hire them out to you for your wedding day if I have a colour match available. Alternatively, I can assist with ordering them if you would prefer to purchase your own or I do not have the correct colour availability for hire.

How will the morning run? Do you provide a schedule? I always aim to have everybody ready 1 hour before you are due to meet with the Registrar or before you are due to leave. It is difficult to pin down an exact schedule as everyone’s hair length and texture can be so different. As a guide I would usually allocate 45 minutes to 1 hour per Bridal Party Member and 1 to 2 hours for the Bride with 15 minutes at the end for touch ups. During your trial we will discuss a running order and I will e-mail an estimated schedule shortly afterwards.

Can you accommodate larger wedding parties? This will depend on a number of factors including the time of your ceremony and the venue access time for getting ready. For larger parties with an earlier ceremony time, you may need to hire a second hairstylist to ensure everybody is ready in time or it may just mean that we need to start earlier. It is not unusual for a wedding morning to start at at least 6am, and honestly, I'm all for making the most of the whole day! If your venue has a later access time, then it may mean starting your morning in another location before moving to your venue for your final prep stages i.e. getting into your dress, photos etc.

Which brands do you use in your kit? I use a whole range of products in my kit from brands such as, Moroccanoil, Living Proof, KYK Haircare, Redken, Fudge Urban, Maria Nila, L’oreal & Schwarzkopf.

What if my hair comes out of place during the wedding morning?

If you would like me to, then I can stay with you for any adjustments, touch ups & veil placement right up until the moment you walk down the aisle so you can rest assured that you will arrive at your wedding looking perfect. See the Boho Bliss Package here if you would like me to stay on hand until your ceremony, or to upgrade your existing package contact me here.
